5-10 of October 2019, the 42nd Lithuanian National Conference of Physicists was held in Kaunas University of Technology. In the session devoted to the Science policy BASNET Forumas President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dalia Satkovskiene presented the talk „EU Gender Equality Policy: Science, Engineering and Mathematics“.
During the talk she pointed the importance of the social aspects in EU science policy and the specifics of implementation gender equality in physics. She presented the established by Horizon 2020 project GENERA European network of Physicists. The results of the research carried out during the project reveal not only the gender situation in physics, but also new trends and social challenges for the scientific society related to the rapid development of science and society. She overviewed the tools developed during the project to address gender equality at the institutional level and their impact on the physics research results.
