30 of September 2010 the international conference “Challenges to Science in the Context of Globalization” will be held.

The conference is devoted to the contemporary science policy. It is aiming to present to the scientific community and science policy makers the science development visions of the most competitive Research Areas (EU and USA) in the world and in this context to discuss Lithuanian science perspectives. One of the conference sessions are devoted to the social dimension of science policy-gender equality in science.

Among key speakers of the conference are representatives from EIGE, ERAB member Zaneta Ozolina, special assistant to the President of Stanford University for federal research policy and former Associate Director for Science in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) prof. Arthur Bienenstock (USA), outstanding researches and Lithuanian science policymakers.

The conference is initiated and co-organized by BASNET Forumas association in collaboration with Institute of International Relations and Political Science of Vilnius University as well as EURAXESS Lithuania (http://www.euraxess.lt/).

The event is financed by European structural funds, Lithuanian government and USA Embassy in Lithuania.

The conference will be held in Vilnius, Crown Plaza hotel, M.K. Čiurlionio g. 84, Vilnius.
